I am a full-time Realtor who understands that buying the perfect property requires someone to notify you as soon as it is for sale and that you will get the highest price for your property when you have timely information to make decisions. Whether you are buying or selling, I focus on communication throughout the process and strive to make your transaction smooth, stress-free and hopefully even a little fun too.
I am currently the managing broker and owner of Coldwell Banker Mountain Properties in Crested Butte. In 2015 I purchased Red Lady Realty – Crested Butte’s oldest real estate company – and in September 2018 we merged with Coldwell Banker Bighorn Realty to create a new force in real estate in Crested Butte.
There are a lot of opportunities to further your education in the real estate business. I think it is important to continue learning how to serve my clients better and to do the best job I can for them. I have focused on a few certifications that I feel are important and have given me additional skills to help my clients in all aspects of real estate transactions.
I have completed many hours of education to become a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR), charter member of RSPS (Resort & Second-Home Property Specialist) and complete the SFR (Short Sales & Foreclosure Resource) Certification.
As a member of the Gunnison County Association of Realtors I am also a part of the Colorado Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. I have been a volunteer member of the Board of Directors of the local association since 2010 and have been lucky enough to attend state and national meetings to network with other Realtors and continue to learn how to be better at my job. I was the president of the association for 2013 – 2014 and am currently the Mountain District Chair Elect for the Colorado Association of Realtors.
I grew up in Taos, NM and moved east to attend Phillips Exeter Academy and Trinity College in Hartford, CT, but soon returned to the mountains. When we moved to Crested Butte, we immediately started major renovations on Irwin Lodge which we managed for five years. In the process, I developed some lasting connections with people in all aspects of construction. In addition, I have assisted in the management of major renovations in town and my husband has his own plumbing and heating company, A&A Mechanical. These connections will be valuable to anyone buying, selling or building a home in the Gunnison Valley.
I also worked in property management in Crested Butte working on vacation rentals and caretaking second homes. This is a very important part of purchasing an investment or vacation property here so you should have the information you need about the expenses involved, income potential and things to take into consideration when selecting a manager.
Homeowners associations are involved in a lot of the purchases in Crested Butte whether it is a condo association or an association to take care of the roads, gates and other common areas. Having managed over 10 during my time in property management, I will make sure you have all of the information you need to make the right decision about a purchase.
