Dogwood Cocktail Cabin
Nestled into one of Crested Butte’s funkiest historic remodels, this miner’s shack turned “cocktail cabin” offers house infused artisan cocktails and tasty plates both sweet and savory. From its nibbles and sips to atmosphere, The Dogwood is anything but ordinary. Step outside the box and into the cabin for a rosemary infused vodka martini and star anise braised beef sliders.
Crested Butte’s newest micro brewery is a “Sunny Place for Shady People”, serving nine beers on tap, a huge selection of over 40 bottled beers, cocktails, bar food and live music regularly. Located upstairs, next to the post office, downtown Crested Butte. Happy hour daily from 3-8 pm: $1.50 pints! Bad beer night is Tuesday from 9pm until it’s gone. The menu focuses on comfort food classics using only fresh ingredients. The restaurant finds fresh, quality, locally sourced ingredients when possible. They make their dishes from scratch. This place is kid friendly, with full family dining as well as a fully stocked bar with Colorado brews on tap!
As you fill your car at the gas station at Butte Avenue & Highway 135, go inside and fuel up for the day with the Gas Cafe. They serve locally roasted coffee, breakfast, and lunch including hot sammies, cold sammies, salads, and food from the fryer. Their burger selection would rival any! You’re pretty much guaranteed two things with the Gas Cafe: friendly service and great food!

Kochevar’s is a true, authentic Crested Butte bar you can still walk into and order your spirit of choice, if you can take the salt. Jacob Kochevar, born in 1874, came to the United States from Yugoslavia at 16 making the Kochevar family one of the oldest lineages in Crested Butte. Jake was reputed to be one of the best carpenters in town, and in 1891, finished building himself what still stands as Kochevars. Many of the hand-hewn timbers came from the site, and the basement still holds testament to this fact with the stumps that remain there. The roof trusses were raised by block and tackle and pulled by horse.
The Last Steep
Voted Best Bloody Mary four years running, The Last Steep Bar & Grill is a true Crested Butte Original named after a favorite ski run on the mountain. The Steep’s specialties include fresh salads, appetizers, sandwiches, wonderful desserts, and more. With one of the largest menu’s in town, you will find something for everyone’s tastes. The Wooden Nickel
Known for the best steaks in town, the Wooden Nickel specializes in tender Filet Mignon, USDA Prime Graded NY Strip and Rib Eye steaks, succulent Prime Rib, Elk Tenderloin, Alaskan King Crab, BBQ pork ribs, pork and lamb chops, fresh grilled seafood, and fresh garden salads.
