This weekend is one of the busiest of the summer in Crested Butte. Whether you care about Art or not, it is worth a stroll down Elk Avenue to look at the great variety of things people have created. There really is something for every budget for sale – from large painting, really large sculptures, affordable pottery, jewelry to lawn ornaments. If you want more information on what will be offered, music and food information – check it out here – Crested Butte Arts Festival. The booths open Friday night at 5:00 until dark and then are open Saturday and Sunday too.
The other big event of the weekend is the Annual Rubber Ducky Race. Picture a front end loader bucket full of colorful rubber ducky’s being dumped into Coal Creek on First Street and “racing” down to Totem Pole Park. Fun for all ages!
It is a fun weekend to be in town. I’ll be in the office all day Saturday so stop by to say hello if you are out shopping!
